Placental growth factor (PLGF) is a VEGF family glycoprotein encoded by the PGF gene, primarily expressed in placental trophoblasts and upregulated in endothelial and inflammatory cells under pathological conditions. By binding VEGFR-1 (Flt-1), PLGF amplifies VEGF-A signaling, driving angiogenesis, endothelial migration, and vascular remodeling. Low maternal PLGF levels are strongly linked to preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), and poor pregnancy outcomes, supporting its use in clinical diagnostics. Elevated PLGF also correlates with pathological angiogenesis in cancer, ocular disease, and cardiovascular disorders.
Catalina PLGF antibodies deliver precise and reliable performance for research in angiogenesis, cancer biology, and pregnancy-related disorders.
